The Preparatory Committee to set up an Association in Zambia
The Russian Center for Science and Culture hosted a meeting of Zambian alumni of the Soviet and Russian HE institutions with the invitation published in the local media outlets to highlight the event.
About 30 alumni of the former USSR's HE institutions (Russia, Ukraine, Byelorussia and Moldavia) took part in the event; some of them got their education in the late 1960s -early 1970s while the others were recent graduates. The discussions held in a very positive atmosphere focused on expanding the alumni's participation in the promotion of the Russia - Zambia cooperation, uniting them in a non-governmental public organization to enhance, in its framework, bi-lateral cultural, educational, scientific and business ties.
The Zambian attendees passed a resolution to set up a preparatory committee for creating an Association of the Soviet and Russian HE institutions' alumni in Zambia. Alumni of the Russian Peoples' Friendship University, the Stavropol Medical Academy and the Lvov Polytechnic Institute were included in the Committee which decided to elaborate a draft Charter and other documents required for the Assembly's registration.
